have never once mentioned race. IDGAF what color the guy is who reaches behind his back
So, you would empty your gun into the body of a svelte blonde who looks like Ivanka Trump if she said she was armed and reached behind her back to get ID?
And FYI an unarmed person can still pose a deadly threat. Fists and feet are used more often than rifles of any kind including shotguns to kill.
A person sitting in a vehicle is it less likely to use fist or feet don't you think? But I'll engage on that level too since you want to go there.
Of all the videos I observed showing cops shooting unarmed blacks, the victim wasn't anywhere within the 20-foot safe zone that most cops like to keep between them and an aggresive offender. In fact some of them were running away or just sitting or standing in place as a cops closed the distance with weapons drawn. Now, before we get into whether the officer did something wrong or right, let's take a look at those cases where the prosecutor thought they had enough evidence to go to trial. That precludes you and me second guessing the officer and puts the judgment of what occured squarely on the shoulders of the prosecutor. Armed with all the facts and statements of witnesses, including other police officers at the scene, an experienced prosecutor knows the odds of winning or losing a conviction.
In this case, and most others, the police union defense lawyers, like the prosecutor, know the weaknesses or strengths of a jury trial rests on the quality of the jurors.. The final verdict is theirs.
The officer was
acquitted
So get over it. This is the way our justice system works. Don't like it? Go someplace else.
I don't like it and I'm going to organize a movement to address the way juries are selected. Prosecutors and defense lawyers should have no part in the selection process.
