Minnesota Democratic Attorney General Keith Ellison has sparked uproar after he likened Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas to an infamous house slave in Quentin Tarantino's 2012 movie Django Unchained.

Ellison made the racially charged remarks in an interview with the Michigan Chronicle in which he was asked to weigh in on the recent Supreme Court ruling on affirmative action policies in top U.S. colleges.

Thomas backed with the 6-3 majority ruling in June to outlaw race considerations in the college admissions process.
