There's a reason why police wear consistent uniforms. The pictures I see of these "agents" are anything but. They wear homemade masks, nothing consistent about their clothing - certainly not uniforms. They could literally a gang on a joyride. And if they aren't legit, well - they're wearing masks. Good luck on identify them.

Yup. It doesn't surprise me a lot, the Republican party has always been a uncomfortable alliance of the limited-government, libertarian leaning conservatives, and the more authoritarian leaning social conservatives. The social conservatives clearly won out, but some (many?) of the libertarian leaning sort seem to still be on board.

I'm not sure what their angle is. Maybe their libertarianism was bullshit all along, but I think many of them have merely tilted nihilist. And, even though Trump is doing virtually nothing libertarians would cheer for, he's throwing a wrench in the status quo and burning everything down - so they support him.

Regardless, the poster I was responding to compared ICE to their (clearly negative) image of Antifa. I was trying to point out to them that they're cheering for the same kind of thing. Violence and intimidation to score political points. Whether their conception of Antifa is accurate isn't the point. The point is that their goons are doing exactly what they accuse Antifa of doing.
