Mike Huckabee: Another Hater Who Wants To Be POTUS

Why does his stance against gay marriage make him a hater?

Can't a person disagree with gay marriage and not be labeled a hater?

What argument can anyone make against gay marriage that doesn't involve hate in some form?

There is no rational argument against gay marriage, so any argument against it must necessarily be irrational. So if hate is not the irrational sentiment/emotion driving the argument, what is?

Then you think Obama is irrational?

If he believes that gay marriage should be kept illegal he is on that issue.

I find that a gratuitous, baseless, irrational, unjustifiable desire to deny someone a perfectly legitimate right or privilege to be an expression of hostility, and a desire to do harm.

I'm willing to include that under the banner of 'hate in some form'.
So Obama's a hater.

Absolutely if he's opposed to gay marriage.

Then you should pay attention. An irrational opinion doesn't become rational simply because someone you like holds it. That would be irrational.

Another hate thread from the blue hater.

Hater = don't accept a wide open body of "rights" for everyone to do anything.

Hater = someone who wants the government to prevent your neighbor from doing what you do, because you hate your neighbor.
Yep. Obama's a hater, then.

Obama did not campaign on a platform of "I hate GLBT people". He made certain promises of importance to these voters (most of which he has not kept).

Who should we have voted for, Dave? McCain is the Poster Boy For Gay Bashing these days, and Palin wants to bring back the 1950's.

I think Huckabee would like that to change.

I think you want to outlaw heterosexuality and force everyone into the gay lifestyle.

I think you watch too much Faux Noose.

No, I watch almost no Fox News. I only used the same stupid "reasoning" you applied to Huckabee on you. If Huckabee not wanting to expand certain rights to homosexuals means he wants to remove rights of homosexuals, then by the same logic, the opposite applies to you. Don't like it? Too bad, you're an idiot.

No.

This is America; every American has the same rights -- or should.

Everyone does have the same rights...no man, gay or straight can marry another man...no woman, gay or straight can marry another woman. Same-same. Equal protection.

After winning Iowa's precinct caucuses in the last election cycle, Huckabee quickly faded and he's now working as a television and radio commentator. But he makes it clear he's thinking of another run for the GOP presidential nomination.

"Am I keeping the option open? Yes," Huckabee said. "Am I open to considering it? Of course I am, I would be foolish not to in light of what I've been through."
He noted that he's in a much different place than four years ago, when he said he was "an asterisk in the polls."
"This time in most of the national polls I'm either at the top or near the top and that certainly is a different position to be in," he said.
Huckabee said he wasn't sure about a timetable for reaching a decision, but it's likely that potential Republican candidates will begin making their intentions clear early next year. "Ask me in six months and I'll have a clearer answer," he said.

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said Sunday that Iowa voters likely launched a national movement when ousting three state Supreme Court justices who agreed with a decision to strike a ban on gay marriage.
Huckabee was in Des Moines courting evangelical conservatives who pushed him to victory in Iowa's leadoff precinct caucuses in the last election.

"The significance and historic nature of the judicial elections here in Iowa were far bigger than the borders of Iowa," he said. "It was a very important statement that voters made, a statement that resonated across the country and one that I think will give legs to a larger movement over the next few years."

Ugh.

Your thoughts, folks?

Bigotry is what the Republican Party is all about.

Bigotry toward blacks, gays, mexicans, women, etc...

You should read Carb's post. I think it applies to you.

I think Huckabee is a despicable person, but I dont see how he can possibly be labeled a hater. I see no evidence that he hates anyone, other than those who stand in his way for his political goals.

You're absolutely right that he's a player, you don't get where he is without being one. And yet I'm convinced his beliefs in the area of homosexuality and some other aspects I personally find troubling are genuine. He's a fairly well documented Christian Reconstructionist, in whole or in part isn't as clear but he openly shares at least some of their goals and has long sought them out for support. He has a very poor record on tolerance let alone defense of civil liberties of all kinds for others yet wants to take full advantage of them for himself and has a policy record of picking his battles accordingly. That's the main thing I dislike about him. He may or may not be "hateful", I cannot judge that, but he is certainly far too authoritarian for my tastes.

Huckabee is a religous conservative. His deep faith keeps him from supporting gay marraige b/c he deeply beleives that it's "Holy" matrimony and gay life is sinful.

That by no means he hates them.

And to say the he would like America to be like North Korea is utterly fucked in the head.

Look at the rest of what he supports and ask yourself; Is gays getting married important or is the economy and jobs important?

geejuz

Gay rights. What use is an America where only some Americans are free to live in dignity and peace? I'm not going to take my family's well-being at the expense of my neighbor's and you shouldn't be willing to either.

So you want "special rights" for gays.... not equal rights.... Oh OK :eusa_eh:

That is EXACTLY what Maddie wants: "special rights" for gays, or abnormals .......not equal rights.

Gays are not normal. THAT is a fact. Gays are ABNORMALS

Just because our Government looks the other way, and allows abnormals to be treated as normals i.e., have EQUAL RIGHTS......that does not mean that the Government is obligated to OFFICIALLY designate what is OBVIOUSLY an ABNORMALITY to be a NORMALITY. And, in that process change the word MARRIAGE", used in our language for millenia, to mean something OTHER THAN "MARRIAGE" to suit the sexual predilection of Abnormals.

That's like changing the meaning of the word "chair" to "apples" just because faggots are perverts.

That is ******* ridiculous.

No pun intended.

Then what you want is to live elsewhere. May I recommend North Korea?

2948638784_c89ddfdb0d.jpg

I think gays have a better deal here than in North Korea.

I think Huckabee would like that to change.

Just because he believes that Homosexuality is a sin doesn't mean he hates them.

If you think that a man giving head to another man is unnatural does that mean you automatically hate everyone who does it? Folks like Huck don't support an attitude that makes this sort of thing socially acceptable. I honestly feel he would rather people keep it behind doors. I feel he fears that once Gays become socially accepted in all respects that it is a threat to his beliefs. He's wrong but being wrong doesn't automatically mean you hate.

Seems the hate is coming from you.

Gays resent him for the way he thinks. Seems resentment is a form of hatred.

An explanation of Chris's ( and the typical Obamarrhoidal LIEbturd's) demented views:

The Republicans are "BIGOTS" because they are:

RACISTS" (or "BIGOTS") because the Republicans are against Black Racism.

They are "BIGOTS" because Republicans are against SPECIAL RIGHTS for Gays (or Abnormals) in ADDITION to being for "EQUAL RIGHTS for Gays. See my response to the Infidel above.

They are "BIGOTS" because Republicans are against Mexicans' "ILLEGAL" IMMIGRATION......because it is "ILLEGAL".

I can't even BEGIN to understand Chris's dementia when he claims that Republicans are against "women" when the Republicans are obviously fond of women, ex: Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann, Gov Jan Brewer, Sharron Angle vs Reid (Dems were for Reid) etc., etc., etc., etc........and, etc.

WHEREAS the ******* Obamarrhoidal LIEbturds are against a numerous number of women.
