The governorship has been democratic for the better part of the past 50 years. Bill Graves was not a Republican.

Technically true, but at least people had the choice of the vaccine then. Many MAGAs (and others) refused the vaccines, so this is more like mass suicide then.

Vaccines did nothing to stop the spread of Covid, they only helped with symptoms and cut deaths. BUT, once you had your Covid vaccine card you could go into a packed football stadim with 80,000 people and spread it around to everyone, who spread it around to everyone else, upping the death rates everywhere.

It's because the GOP at the state level, especially Johnson County, is really two parties. The moderates and conservatives and they truly hate each other. The moderates tend to team up with the democrats and elect democrats or RINOS. It is not really that strong of a repubican state when it comes right down to it.
