I like the idea, but it's not in my backyard, and the locals DON'T want it.

As long as we are talking Rocket Lab they seem to be breaking out business wise...thinking of buying some......comments?

Why in Michigan's upper peninsula? That doesn't seem like a very ideal place to launch rockets into orbit because it is so far from the equator.

Something seems fishy about this.

Back in 2004, I was living in Singapore. The Singapore government was making a lot of noise about becoming the Internet Hub for the entire Asia Pacific Region. They had plans to build a huge complex of server farms. They were advertising it. They sent delegations all around the world drumming up interest for their plan.

Despite the fact that Singapore had among the lowest international bandwidth capacity of the first world Asian countries. Less than Japan, much less than China, and even less than Australia.

Two years later, no one mentioned the plan.

If we are to live somewhere in outer space, then there has to be a lunch pad somewhere. One rocket after another would have to take off.

then there has to be a lunch pad somewhere

Can't they take lunch with them?

It's an awful idea.

Anyone that has ever been up in that area would know how inappropriate an idea it is. It is like teaching transgender sex to grade school kids, or putting a manurfacturing plant in Yellowstone. . .
