I don't see how hiring this high-powered lawyer does Sullivan any good. Will his new lawyer ask for an extension to justify his actions? It seems that he is trying to draw this thing out, maybe hoping to see Trump lose and the case against Flynn resume under a democrat DOJ. Personally, I don't see that happening; maybe he wants to force Trump to pardon Flynn, which perhaps gives the democrats a talking point? But in effect he's using the judicial branch to make political statements, and that is definitely not what our justice system is for.
