Michael Brown - Felony Murder Rule?

Michael Brown's accomplice allegedly participated in a Felony at the Quick Stop before they were apprehended. If a continuing connection to this crime can be established, couldn't the accomplice be charged with the felony-related death of Mr. Brown?

Given the jury pool, and the fact that DA is an elected position, no prosecutor would even try this.
