A video depicting a sprawling military-style convoy of one of Mexico’s most powerful drug cartels circulated on social networks on Friday just as President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador visited the group’s heartland.

In the two-minute clip, members of the fearsome Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) stand in fatigues alongside a seemingly endless procession of armored vehicles.

“Only Mencho’s people,” members of the cartel shout, pumping their fists and flashing their long guns. The cry was a salute to their leader, Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera, one of the country’s most-wanted drug lords.

The leader, "El Mencho," cultivates a fearsome reputation among law enforcement as a "Wanted Man," but at the rank-and-file level, even in the United States, CJNG members are definitely allowed to possess and carry firearms while ordinary law-abiding citizens are not.

Otherwise, "Jalisco" is a state within Mexico, and it is foolish to assume that all youth or "Nueva Generación" kids are addicted to drugs, simply because of the assumed peer pressure of that age range.

The Jalisco New Generation probably needs to get off drugs and open up the economy to healthier and more productive activities on a more competitive basis rather than all that local "company-town" cartel truck.

Everyone wants to rule the world, but only I am qualified to do so. (Narcissism 101).
