Was that a drummer or someone shooting a weapon? I'm old school I think they would have done better with that song by slowing it down a tad and some more interesting vocals and lyrics.

Unless they clone Cliff Burton, nothing they do will be as successful as their first few albums. This is thrash, & Metallica have done it better.

Maybe, but I don't think that's it. Trujillo is dope. I'm not sure if most metalheads are even aware of how good he is. His best stuff was with Infectious Grooves, which was a really unique fusion of punk/thrash and funk. He's a good fit for the band, imo.

I think the biggest problem is that they just don't have the intensity and fire that they used to have when they were young. They're in their 50's now, still playing metal -- a genre that hasn't been popular since the 80's. The genre itself is dead and everything they do sounds dated to my ears. They simply aren't progressing as a band after all these years.
