There will always be an underclass of unmotivated workers. At least if you developed a work ethic after high school, you had a chance to establish yourself and grow in a company. This will take these people out permanently.

Not everybody in highschool has their future planned out. Most don't. They are destined to become a permanently unemployable underclass

The workers have not been getting the benefits of their productivity gains. As AI and Robotics generates a new growth plain for productivity, we need to plan to pass the benefits of that growth to the workers, or maybe the non-workers. And yes, a universal basic income needs to be a part of that equation.
