Women have always been attracted to me and I think it has more to do with personality and not just my good looks and great physique. Maybe this is why I've stayed single so long. I do plan on getting married next Spring to a beautiful and intelligent woman.

Sooner or later one of a couple is going to die alone. It's the norm. That sucks, as well as out living all the friends you grew up with as well. My father died fairly young, WW II lung damage, so a lot of people in town showed up at his funeral. My mother is still alive in here mid-90's, and none of her friends are still alive and she doesn't get to church but a couple of times a year so few people know here any more. The grand kids are great about keeping in touch with her, several time a week, though, and she lives with us, so she isn't isolated like a lot of old people I take meals to via Meals On Wheels and via church work doing yards and repairs and other stuff, and they like to talk and get some attention. Churches carry some of the burden of visits but they can't do it all.

Back in high school a pretty popular guy, that I didn't know very well, invited me to a 'pre-dance' party at his house. When my girl and I arrived, he had us wait in large room that I supposed others would gather when they arrived. We waited for nearly a half hour but no one else came. He appeared and said "We can go to the dance now". We then went to the dance but he never showed up. I was pretty naive about such things at the time, but he clearly was hitting on me and was surprised when I showed up with a girl. I rarely dated girls from my high school as I had grown up with most of them from elementary school and they were like sisters to me. I dated and went steady with girls from other high schools. As I didn't have a girl friend from our school (and being the good-looking guy that I was) he might have thought, or hoped, I was gay.
