They contributed in all the ways I described which is all we have a right to expect from anybody that doesn't involve us. If their son-in-law chose to take them in that's his/their business, not yours. The point is they were here legally, did not take anything away from anybody, did not get resources other people needed and as tax payers were entitled to, did not pose any kind of burden, problem, threat or danger to anybody.

That's what we used to expect of all immigrants, i.e. they would be admitted legally, would support themselves or have sponsors who would take responsibility for them until they could support themselves. They were not a burden on society. They were expected to obey our laws and most would become proud Americans and good citizens that contributed to the good of all.

Under Trump's hoped for immigration reform it wouldn't have happened or would have taken a lot longer because chain migration would be ended. The Democrats held the border open via Biden's rescinding of Trump's border policies. He left wall materials to rot on the ground. He and Kamala are the leaders of this invasion and should really be standing for treason. That bill was a political bandaid and would not have done anything to really stem the tide. Basically that bill would spend more tax dollars on processors of illegals.
So don't try to say Democrats want to secure the border, all they want to do is let more in.

The bill would have substantially increased the number of border patrol agents. It would have streamlined the asylum process so that illegals are not being held in custody at the border for several months at a time. It would have increased border security far more than anything Trump did during his 4 years as president.
