Underfoot is 16 years old. My son took him a year ago after his owner passed and no one wanted him. He was an independent sort who grouched at everyone. When he came here his fur was balding in patches. His breath stank and his teeth were thick with tarter. His eyes were clouded over, He also suffered from reduced kidney function and chronic constipation. Vet said at his age and condition he should make it another year.
I changed his food to top of the line. Tummy issues resolved. Brushed out his dead fur. Put an additive in his water that tasted good and helped clean his teeth. Add in Greenies for cats to scrape off the tarter, breath now smells good. Eyes are clear (yay).
He has turned into a neurotic cat with severe separation anxiety who screams his head off demanding treats. I created a monster. Oh yes, in his current health, we will have him well into his 20s.
