Gabriel Gomez has zero political experience — which is exactly why he might have a chance at winning the Massachusetts special election to replace John Kerry in the U.S. Senate.

Gomez, a 47-year-old Republican, has an impressive life story: The son of Colombian immigrants, Gomez graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy, and went on to become a Navy pilot, decorated Navy SEAL operator, graduate of Harvard Business School, and later, had a successful career in private equity. Let's hope so. A true conservative from Mass? Sounds like a dream.

He almost doesn't stand a chance.

The Democratic machine will find a way of destroying him.

Remember what they said at their convention? Just because you have a Latino name, that doesn't make you a real Latino.

I thought senate races were supposed to be slam dunks for MA democrats....why are they having competition all of a sudden?

And that's exactally how democrats are....talk about RACIST....they actually define who is and who is not black or lation based on politics......that's amazing.......it used to be someone black is no different...now it's to be a real black, you have to be a shaniqua type that's uneducated and totally dependant on the democrat party

He's not a conservative. He's a centrist (at best), he sent a truly-embarrassing letter to Deval Patrick, basically BEGGING to be appointed as interim Senator. He might beat Markey, but I'm not sure it matters.
