Meet Diana Dean

I think we all should get to know Diana Dean, the customs agent that caught the millennium bomber as he was trying to cross into the USA. As you may recall, Richard (swinging johnson) Clarke has implied that it was his policies and the policies of the Clinton administration that led to the potential bomber's capture.

You can read Diana Dean's "Prepared Statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee" here.

You will notice in it that Clarke is not mentioned once. Neither is it implied that she caught this guy due to any policies or new directives that had been handed down. She caught the guy using a good old fashion "hunch".

The Winds of Change website link has a very interesting story on all her. The interesting thing is, note the date (13 April) now note this comment in the story:

And I've got to believe that if Clarke is taking credit for it now - claiming that good senior staff work foiled the Millennium Plot - either he's puffing like a freaking blowfish, or there's some data out there that hasn't made it to the public record.
