That is not accurate, indeed, it was Mcconnell, Boehner, and Ryan who did everything in their considerable power to upend the Tea Party, which was the only reason behind the republican sweep back into power, Mcconnell & Boehner had absolutely nothing to do with that resurgence, you might recall the faux house votes(40 + of them)repealing Obamacare, each one to enormous media attention, and each one followed up with the very next day, absent any media coverage, with Boehner always leading the republican party to fund every single penny of it! One other thing, it was Mcconnell, Ryan, and Sessions who created the Mueller Special Council investigation into Trump, fascist democrats had no hand in that, they were in the minority of both houses, it was obvious to all with a three digit IQ what had been perpetrated upon Trump via the naked treachery of Sessions, Mcconnell, and Ryan!
