In the clearest contradiction, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) told CNN’s Anderson Cooper in February that he “would be inclined to support” “an exchange of prisoners for our American fighting man,” like the one Taliban officials had offered in 2012. He has since labeled Obama’s deal “ill-founded” and a “mistake.” [...]

Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) — the ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee — has also said that the U.S. “must make every effort to bring this captured soldier home to his family.” But appearing on Fox News just days after Bergdahl’s release, Inhofe criticized the administration for agreeing to free “people who have killed Americans, people who are the brain power of Taliban.”

From McCain's CNN interview...

COOPER: Would you oppose the idea of some form of negotiations or prisoner exchange? I know back in 2012 you called the idea of even negotiating with the Taliban bizarre, highly questionable.

MCCAIN: Well, at that time the proposal was that they would release -- Taliban, some of them really hard-core, particularly five really hard-core Taliban leaders, as a confidence- building measure. Now this idea is for an exchange of prisoners for our American fighting man. I would be inclined to support such a thing depending on a lot of the details.

Perhaps a Taliban DISH WASHER for an Army denounced deserter, but I doubt anyone of a above average intellect (that does leave you out!) would trade 5 VERY HIGH RANKING Taliban fighters, and a reported $5-$6 MILLION for the disgraced, and presumed collaborator!

Right and he and democrats OPPOSED the release of the SAME 5 detainees he mentions above.

As a matter of fact democrats stated it was a bi-partisan NO.

They knew exactly which five were being considered for trade, Vigilante...as did we a few years ago...it was reported in the news.

If I ever get that old, I can only hope I forget everything I've ever said and done as well.

Right and they all said NO, both democrats and republicans.

Why is this news? If they had agreed I can see you might have a point, they said no way.

You have a link for that, I can't seem to find one where they name or say 4 HIGH RANKING Taliban!

Obama and Clinton came to congress with the harebrained idea, it was a bipartisan, "NO freaking Way". Not to mention the United Nations reiterated at the time 2 of them were wanted for mass murder of thousands of Shiite Muslims. This is why so many Shiite Muslims are scared shitless about their release.

Now provide a quote where they actually agreed with releasing them. Everything I've seen they said no.

Damning evidence McCain lied.

Can't we just dispense with petty partisanship and agree that any Republican who supports the Bergdahl-for-dangerous-terrorist swap is just as stupid as Obama?

As far as I'm concerned the idea borders on insanity no matter who approved the damn thing.

Which EXACTLY the Constitution gives the role of Commander-in-Chief to the President.

The Capricious and partisan nature of the congress makes it badly suited for these types of decisions.

Wrong...

In fact 147 Dems voted no and 111 voted yes for invading Iraq so A LOT of dems voted to NOT invade Iraq...

Iraq Resolution - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The US secretly dropped our soldiers off in an allied country, next to a Pakistani military installation, to run a train on the number one terrorist in the world. And if that doesn't work again, we have a global fleet of flying death robots that simply don't care who is on the receiving end of a Hellfire missile.

These 5 "top level" Taliban POWs have just been released onto a worldwide battlefield. Guantanamo was the only place where they couldn't be killed.

So please, dumb ******* Americans, please just shut the **** up.

You want to get so pissed off about Bergdahl but you won't ever voice your opposition to Reagan training and arming the jihad. You want to get pissed about Obama but forget who started this war in the first place. It wasn't al-Qaeda or the Taliban. It was the United States and the Central Intelligence Agency using terrorists as proxy soldiers. The CIA created a quagmire in the Middle East and now you ******* morons have been dumping billions of dollars every week for 13 years now into this quagmire because you think that you're going to succeed.

It's quite a bit like watching a retarded monkey spending trillions of dollars to **** a football. You know that the whole scenario isn't really going to serve any greater purpose, but it makes the retarded monkey feel good. You all certainly feel good when Muslims die, so just look forward to the news report that these 5 terrorists were killed by a drone for having brown skin and calling God by a different name.
