People can think what they want but I've seen things, stuff that violated the laws of physics that no plane can do, nothing in fact can do but I clearly saw it, and just weeks before his death, knowing he was dying, a very close and trusted friend confided in me that he had been abducted by a UFO several times in his youth. He just brought it up cold. It was the last time I saw him before he passed away.

Knowing the guy and knowing he was dying, I find it really hard to believe that he'd make something like that up.

how so? These people believe they were abducted...are they lying or what?
I was suggesting that these abductions may be be related to negative spiritual encounters? Unfortunately I have no empirical data available to substantiate my suggestion.

Do you mean something unrelated OR RATHER oppositional, to..let's say God or Christ?

If that is what you mean that i can recommend Alien Encounter by Gary Bates i think it is. Let me double check.

It seems that these encounters always happen to atheists, unbelievers, New Agers and the like.

Nor do i believe he would make it up. I have friends who speak of a couple 'alien' encounters. And i believe that they believe it.

i'd like to hear your story.

Story is essentially correct and if it appeals to you I suggest you check out Linda Moulton Howe who has become a lead investigator over several decades in this area and in abductions .
She is a very bright woman and her research is extensive and detailed .

What you choose to believe or ridicule is your business but DYOR about Eisenhower's meeting with Aliens in 1954 and the agreements that were made .
Also several most interesting whistle blowers and countless abductees whose stories under hypnosis will leave you intrigued unless you are brain rigid .

Well, I don't know if I have a story, but I've told bits and pieces here before.
  1. In the late sixties, maybe 1967, I was a young boy out in the backyard one night with my first toy telescope, a 3" f/10 newtonian using probably a 25mm Kellner or Huygens which was the only good eyepiece I had giving about 30X (enough that the full moon would have filled the view) panning high overhead in what was probably the summer sky when I caught three point-like objects moving along against the starry background obviously very high up, there was no detectable sound (they were very high up but it was also dead quiet outside), moving in a straight line side by side and I followed them a bit assuming they were jets when suddenly, one instantly jumped ahead. I would say it was less than "instant" but the acceleration and resumption of like speed was so much nearly so that no known object to this day could make such speed changes! There was no acceleration, just suddenly moving at 2X-3X the speed of the others jumping ahead then back to the old speed. Then the one that jumped made an instant right turn, a 90° right angle with no curve to it, just suddenly going a totally different direction. That was effectively instant. When the other two caught up to where the first turned, they made the same right turn, caught up to the first, and then they resumed a roughly triangular formation and I followed them as they headed towards the west for several more minutes hoping to see something else but finally gave up when they did nothing else unusual.
  2. Around a similar time in the late sixties, before or after the event above I cannot be sure but maybe before, I was out in the street in front of my house. It was totally clear and warm, when I spotted an oblong gray balloon in the sky tumbling head over heels slowly heading south, just high enough to be seen above the apple trees of the neighbor's yard behind mine looking up between the houses. I would say it was between several hundred feet away to maybe 1000-1500, making it between 30 and 100 feet long roughly I would guess. It was moving at a fair clip and started going behind my house so I began running up the street trying to keep it into view between other houses as the road was higher there, but it was also moving away and after 30 seconds or so, I lost sight of it. The odd thing is that there were no markings or anything on it, it was tumbling in a constant slow motion making one revolution end-wise about every 3-4 seconds, it couldn't have been more than 200-300 feet off the ground, there was no parades or events anywhere around that day and there was absolutely so wind nor breeze to account for its motion, much less explain what what propelling it to keep "tumbling."
  3. In the 70's I spotted an object at dusk and called my dad to come out to see it. I had a 60mm refractor and in it, it looked like a clear bubble with two headlights and a small antenna with two red lights. While my father was looking at it, he said it blew up, and I followed several glowing chards toward the ground. My father called a friend at the airport and I agree, it was likely a weather balloon.
  4. But then in 2004, I caught another object at dusk in a much better telescope that kept changing shape and direction and took several afocal pictures of it.

Identity unknown. These were my personal experiences and while I can "explain" most of them, the first one is the hardest as nothing flying, even robotic, can change speed or turn on a dime.

Then there was one anexdotal story I take seriously because it came from my aunt. She and my uncle sharecropped on a big farm on the DelMarVa peninsula and she was an old woman and they had woods way out back. On one visit there, she told me of seeing an orange glowing object come down to the woods, made some strange sound like it was having trouble, then it got bright and took off up into the sky and disappeared. These were salt-of-the-earth people who usually went to bed at 9PM and got up before dawn working hard all day not disposed to making things up much less like this. I questioned her and she was quite serious.

Then of course there is my friend who told me of being abducted shortly before he died, and I found out later that he knew he was dying, something that killed his father too, and had been keeping news of it from me. This was another person who even if he had been younger and healthy was the last person on the earth you'd expect to hear a crazy "outer-space" story from. In fact, he was the kind of guy not to believe such a story even if you had two of the aliens standing right behind you.

Take it for what you wish but I'm a skilled, trained observer, and known for my accurate recollection, and if you hunt, you will find some of these stories recounted by me here maybe twice before and you will find all of the stories match. I know what I saw.

Enjoyed your post TBF.
Good of you to share .
It is so infuriating to not know how to progress such incidents to the next level of questioning and have any realistic chance of obtaining satisfactory answers .

Explain what?

Do millions of people go missing every year that we somehow haven't noticed?
These 'abductees' only go missing for a matter of hours more or less. Are you interested in the conversation or just interested in being an obstacle.

Do you study any of the cases? None of these people go missing for days or weeks, but during the night in their sleep or out somewhere where they find themselves back with a memory lapse a few hours later with no or little clear recollection of where the lost time went.

There is always an element of fraud in every situation: undoubtedly there are occasionally a few out there trying to fake people out with stories, or fake bigfoot prints they make or something just to see if they can fool others, but long ago I realized that this could not possible explain the thousands and thousands of events, sighting and reports, often by large groups of people or even including authorities!

I been watching Ancient Aliens and i am wondering if the pyramids of Egypt were built by aliens.

In the middle of the night in their sleep. Followed by a memory lapse. That's known as a dream.

Probably true in many cases. Or a cry for attention. But I can't use that dismissive rationalization to do away with ALL the claims. Especially when one of them came from a rock solid center of the earth guy I knew for 35 years who made the claim just days before he died with a dead serious look on his face.
