Matt Walsh: America isn’t a nation of immigrants

settlers. He explains his point in the video in the OP. How did you miss that?
How can you approve of colonialism yet disapprove of invasion? Of course one cannot do so without embracing hypocrisy.

Be honest for once - colonialism is what we call an invasion carried out by "us" and invasion is what we call colonialism carried out by "them".

I suggested already that you change your name from "struth" to "slies".

I never claimed not to support or support either of them.

But we don't have any colonies. We were colonies at one point, but fought for our freedom and gained our independence

We are a nation of Americans. We took in people from all over the world. We insisted on a shared language and a shared history. We insisted that they bring no loyalty to any other country.
We don't do that anymore.

Historically the U.S. was made up of (legal) immigrants. It would be unfair and inaccurate to characterize the U.S. today to be a "Nation of immigrants".

Oh boy, this one has set off the left, who love to whine and cry about racism and how America “stole” land from the Natives.

Well, here is Matt Walsh’s defense of that statement:

We did the same thing, gave land grants for thousands & thousands of acres of land.
And why bring this up? The actions of those new to the country & those who already lived here?

You are wrong.
We are a nation that has taken in a lot of immigrants, but even today only 14% of the population is foreign born. The remaining 86% of us are native to the U.S.
How many generations of your family have to be born here before you’re no longer tied to your ancestors’ Old World homelands?

It might sound virtuous to claim we are all immigrants :huddle: but it's just not true, and hasn't been for a long time.
Yes people die. And I WOULD NOT BE HERE if some one long before I was, or my parents or even my great grand parents
Had not come to AMERICA. So really your interest is in Newer arrivals, So why not just say that?
