just read that it's murky territory whether or not since he did win reelection he could retake his seat, but he can be a candidate in the special election we're having for his seat since he resigned. DeSantis could also appoint him to take Rubio's senate seat but in 2026 we would have a special election for that seat for the remaining 2 years of what would have been Rubio's term. But there are about 5 different people DeSantis had on his list before Gaetz withdrawal.

Oh, if he could be seated in his old seat in January the ethics investigation would reopen.
