The Biden-Harris Department of Justice has undertaken a slew of lawsuits against local police and fire departments alleging that it is racist to require hires entrusted with public safety to know basic math.

The lawsuits undermine Kamala Harris’s attempts to brand herself as a moderate in the final weeks of the presidential campaign, with the suits both suggesting a dim view of blacks by the administration, and employing the theory of “disparate impact,” the radical theory that holds that anytime there are statistical racial disparities, racism must be the cause — even if no one can explain how.


On Friday, the DOJ’s civil rights unit filed a lawsuit against South Bend, Indiana, saying “South Bend uses a written examination that discriminates against Black applicants and a physical fitness test that discriminates against female applicants,”

Comment:
There are legitimate reasons to have basic qualifications for a job.
Counting and adding and subtracting seems to be very minimal qualifications.
These qualifications apply equally regardless of race or gender.
There are White job candidates who may not have minimal math skills and there are probably men who are too physically weak for the job.
So, it is discrimination by skills, not by race or gender.
 
Dear Lord......Again.

Just be qualified and do your job.
If it requires BASIC math, then learn your basic math.

My Gawd, if you can't pass a basic 4 function math test, then maybe sit yourself down and learn the basics.
You wanna be an adult, then learn the basics.

Doesn't surprise me at all. Police departments also are very discrimanatory toward short stature men too from joining or over a certain age. I know some very fit men in their 50's who would make great police officers, but unfortunately they would be deemed to old. It's very hard from what I have seem actually to get hired as a cop or corrections officer from what I have seen if you don't fit into the mold they are looking for. In my 20's and 30's I tried joining. Clean record I tried years ago to apply to be a police and also applied to be a corrections officer, I didn't get past the initial interview. I didn't even get to the testing stage at all. I think they didn't like a short stature half Native American man with a Master's Degree joining their ranks.

I had the same experience. Who would think decent vision would be reasonable requirement for someone flying a multi-million dollar aircraft.

So why doesn't the govt go after the NBA and NFL for being 80% black.? Or the PGA for being 1% black.?
 
Blacks struggle with third grade arithmetic. Without DEI grading very few would graduate from HS.
 
This is how the world is. Grown women are physically equal to 12 year old boys and adult blacks are mentally equal to 12 year old white kids.
 
If they had basic English as well, they would know it's basic maths ;)

These two abilities -- Verbal and Marthematical -- appear to be the major determinants making up the Trait .

And determine General Comprehension levels .

Ill schooled and stupid people often resent that because it shows how poorly schooled and / or stupid they might be .

When I used to conduct interviews, I had to have a shortlist to weed out possible candidates. So I drew up a scoring chart. Do you have maths, English, science, a driving licence, relevent experience, hobbies, low number of past jobs etc.. Then I would interview the top 8 or 10 candidates. I interviewed based on behaviours, far much easier to train product knowledge than how to smile.
