In a Republic, actually
'Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., responded to why President Trump is probably resisting the full release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, citing ties with others’ deep pockets.

“I think it's going to be embarrassing to some of the billionaires, some of the donors who are politically connected to his campaign. There are probably intelligence ties to our CIA and maybe to other foreign intelligence,” Massie told ABC News' "This Week" anchor George Stephanopoulos.

Massie emphasized how those who were involved in the allegations need to be held accountable regardless of social status. “We can't avoid justice just to avoid embarrassment for some very powerful men,” Massie said. Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., appeared alongside Rep. Thomas Massie as the bipartisan duo has been urging their fellow members of the House to vote in favor of releasing the Epstein files amid strong opposition from the White House.'

Trump and Republicans have grossly mismanaged the Epstein scandal.

Agreed. Trump did mismanage. Now whatever released is going to be considered tainted. No one will know if the list has been altered in any way. Biden had a chance to something about it as well. He didn't. Maybe people can look at this and finally really both parties are shit and stop worshipping them.

I wonder how many poor men are on that list?

Biden didn't do it for the same reasons Trump won't. They're protecting each other. Like when Trump wouldn't "lock her up." It's the same ole con the right and the left pull on us. All the while pretending to be enemies on TV.

Massie could correct that in one swoop.

Why won't he release the names?

"This is a moral issue.

"'It's about standing with survivors. It's about protecting children,' (Ro) Khanna said. 'I admire Congressman Massie's courage. I admire Nancy Mace's courage, Marjorie Taylor Greene's courage, Lauren Boebert's courage. They are standing with survivors. We have the votes. Let's get a vote this month and get their files released.'"

"Khanna, however, said he had concerns whether the files would be released in their entirety.

"'It's a concern. But the victims' lawyer, Bradley Edwards, has seen the files, as have many people who are career officials. So if they try to do something that is political, then, many other people would call them out on it,' Khanna said."

If Epstein had ties to intelligence agencies outside the US, some of those files are going to include major figures from both parties going back to the '90s.

What justice does Massie envision for those very powerful men about whom he has made some very powerful assumptions?

Public shaming, with no trial? That's the country Massie wants to live in?

These files were released by FBI to the House and had to comply with FOIA law. Those names everyone are clamoring for would be redacted by law.

Seriously?

Let them walk?
