Somerville Hotline To Report ICE Raids Launches This Month

march 28 2018 SOMERVILLE, MA – A text message service to warn residents of federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids will soon be available in Somerville. The Somerville Response Network, developed by The Welcome Project, is currently in the testing phase and will allow residents to report and receive alerts about ICE action in the city.

The aim of the Somerville Response Network is to prevent the separation of families, officials with The Welcome Project told Wicked Local. The organization also asks those who are not at risk of being deported to provide support by either going to the scene of a raid or provide resources afterward.

The way to deal with this is make hundreds if not thousands of reports.

Somerville decided to be lawless about this sort of thing a long time ago. Pandering to a segment of the local population that is on the way out anyway.

That's a good idea but a better way is for trump to prosecute city officials for OOJ. Imagine what would happen in all our sanctuary cities if just one city official went to prison for this.
