That’s EXACTLY what’s been going on. McMansions galore, all bought by “work” from home mediocre government employees pulling in $250k between them. They shop at designer stores, eat at expensive steakhouses, and drive expensive cars.

That being said, I don't live in Maryland, and I have to respect the right of Maryland voters to vote for whatever policies they want, even if I disagree with those policies.

A friend of mine worked for a government agency for years, when her department hired a black woman with a high school diploma. (My friend had a master’s degree.) Six months later, a higher level job opened up in her department, and they both applied. They gave the job to the much less qualified black.

My friend sued. Took two years - but she won. She got the job (and the differential in pay over the two years), and the DEI pick was demoted.

I can tell you this, if you are in a state with a carry license going to another state where you have a carry license, you don't want to drive through 5 miles of Maryland to get there if you don't have a carry license there as well (and good luck getting one).

I live in VA, and fish a lot in the Potomac, which is in Maryland, and won't have a firearm on the boat for that very reason. Avoid it like the plague not only for that but that it is a shithole, especially within 5o miles of DC. When we go to Chincoteague to fish we take the bridge tunnel instead of the bay bridge which is shorter, but less chance of interaction with assholes whether carrying or not.
