By the Corps Commandant no less. He’s now been seen running during the lunch hour with some senior officers to include a general or two.

The Corps don’t mess around.

Story @ Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps placed on Body Composition Program

Back in the late 50s and early 60s the Army had a weight loss program and overweight guys were given a period of time to reach a certain weight or Sayonara. I've seen soldiers with up to 19 years service get a pink slip. We called it the Fat Mans Program.

Oh how well I know - I was on it! Too much time behind a desk.

Every Marine is a rifleman and is required to qualify with the basic weapon every year. Did you ever see a Marine Corps general who didn't wear the expert rifleman badges that enlisted personnel work so hard for? Fat assed Pentagon types probably never saw a rifle range in fifteen years and faked the scores back when they were company grade officers. It's time the Commadant drained the officer swamp instead of picking on the enlisted who paid the price and did their duty.

Actually Gysgt and above and Major and above are NOT required to qualify with rifles anymore, their weapon is a handgun.
