Funny, they aren't unpopular with most who voted for Trump. Many of Trump’s early actions are unpopular, Post-Ipsos poll finds
Reviews from Americans on Trump’s second term are mixed to negative, and 57 percent say he has exceeded his authority since taking office.
Board System Asks: Is this already being discussed? I answer "Not that I know of. I've searched. I've seen this article posted as a reply or something in a Putin thread. Not sure wtf that was about.
So, drum-roll please...

President Donald Trump has opened his second term with a flurry of actions designed to radically disrupt and shrink the federal bureaucracy, but reviews from Americans are mixed to negative on many of his specific initiatives, and 57 percent say he has exceeded his authority since taking office, according to a Washington Post-Ipsos poll.Updated: February 20, 2025 at 8:45 a.m. EST today
Interesting is this: Overall, 43 percent of Americans say they support what the president has done during his first month in office, with 48 percent saying they oppose. Those who strongly oppose outnumber those who strongly support by 37 percent to 27 percent. Much of what Trump is doing with his so-called shock & awe attacks through a flurry executive orders, is strongly opposed by American citizens.
The president’s supporters applaud him for deporting undocumented immigrants and cutting government waste. Those unhappy with the direction he is taking the country say they fear Trump is allowing billionaire Elon Musk to dismantle critical government programs.
In their first 100 days in office (a fairly new benchmark), Presidents have been know to overreach. Also, they've been known to overestimate the support from the America public for themselves personally, and for their policies.
another article is more interesting when Dante's argument(s) is put forth:
Trump’s honeymoon is over
New polling shows Trump’s approval ratings declining — and a number of major warning signs appearing.
snippet:
President Donald Trump came into office claiming a sweeping and historic mandate, but that was always oversold.
Trump’s win was relatively modest, historically speaking. And while his approval rating upon taking office reached a new all-time high for him — around 50 percent — his “honeymoon” phase still paled in comparison with every modern president not named Trump.
And now, after one month in office, whatever honeymoon (and mandate) Trump enjoyed appears to be slipping away.
Multiple polls this week have shown his approval rating dropping into more normal territory for him, in the mid-40s. And a new Washington Post-Ipsos poll crystallizes a number of warning signs for Trump’s agenda of drastic and legally dubious change.
Indeed, Americans seem to be quite concerned by how far Trump is going, and most of his signature policies and initiatives appear to be quite unpopular — especially those spearheaded by billionaire Elon Musk.

a bit long, but it's an OP
Dante
yes, he's cleaning up washington to install his own private swamp.
Now it is changing.Funny, they aren't unpopular with most who voted for Trump.
Not sure what you mean by changing. As with many things, democrats taught republicans how to do things and then they get all pissed off when republicans wind up doing them better than democrats had done. The reality is, both sides have been in a race to see which party could get the presidency, the House, and the Senate so that they could turn the country into a one party dictatorship. Democrats were so very close and would have done it but for Joe Manchin and Kirsten Sinema. So, now it appears that Republicans won the race. But that doesn't really mean anything changed. Both parties are still the same and want to be dictators. Now it is changing.

What about FEMA Camps, Jade Helm, Obama and Democrats coming for everybody's guns? When have democrats ever sought to consolidate their power in a way like what you're describing? Did Obama or Biden pack the courts with their unqualified cronies that they thought would owe their allegiance to them? Did Biden and Harris leave office quietly or did they start lying about rigged elections and incite a riot and come up with some sort of fake electors scheme to overthrow the will of the voters and democracy?
clue: sarcasm
Is that why the felon fraud's poll numbers are tanking, genius?Except that 70% plus of American citizens approve of what Trump is doing. By the way, the Washington Compost is NOT an actual source. Keep crying leftards. Keep crying
Democrats will continue to lie. It makes them feel better.Trump is cleaning up Washington and the people LOVE it!
Marxist Democrats lie like normal people breathe.Democrats will continue to lie. It makes them feel better.
If Trump secures the border...which he is doing...My guess is Trump's popularity will be decided by employment numbers. If Tramp's tariffs work and produce growth in manufacturing jobs, then all will be well. If they don't work, the country will either turn back to the Democrats or towards a free-market conservative.
