I don't think it matters that much. It's just something they say to appear pious.

I frequently drive past the Smithfield plant in Sioux Falls, where the air reeks constantly of swine feces and the stench of processing pork products, and the Muslim population of the city mostly lives within smelling distance. I imagine many work there. I doubt that the Somali grocery and the Ethiopian restaurant in the neighborhood can employ as many of them as live there.

I lived in the neighborhood when I was a teenager, where the homes were nice middle class homes, and now it's a ghetto.
