RIP sir, you earned your wings. If more people stood by principle and sacrificed for freedom, justice and/or the lives of others and NOT for glory or personal gain: the world would be far better off today. I never grow tired of reading about heroes.

Sad when that happens but it's a lot more common than one might think. I bet I read of a couple incidents of that a year about good samaritans drowning in the the Shenandoah River while trying to rescue others.

A local preacher drowned while trying to save his two boys last Summer after their fishing boat capsized.....The river was up and they all drowned.

So sad. I remember a pro football player who managed to save someone drowning at a beach even though he couldn't swim. I think his name was Joe Delaney.

Yes he did, that happened back in the 80s if I remember right.
