Now go to the hospital burn ward to find the guy with a face full of back blast.

The Filipinos need to enact RPG control laws.

Or better yet, get rid of the rappers. It's always the rappers.

"On January 25, 2026, a group of gunmen led by a man identified as Budtong “Rap-rap” Pendatun was responsible for the RPG attack on the convoy of Shariff Aguak Mayor Akmad Mitra Ampatuan in Maguindanao del Sur, Philippines.

Here are the key details regarding the perpetrators:
  • The Attackers: Police identified the group as being led by "Rap-rap" Pendatun, accompanied by his uncle, cousin, and a sibling.
  • The Incident: The attack occurred around 6:30 a.m. in Barangay Poblacion, Shariff Aguak, where the suspects used a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) and high-powered firearms to ambush the mayor's vehicle, according to executive assistant Anwar Kuit Emblawa.
  • Outcome of Suspects: Following a hot pursuit by the Philippine National Police and the Army's 90th Infantry Battalion, three of the four suspects were killed in a shootout in the nearby municipality of Datu Unsay. The fourth suspect, identified as the sibling who served as the driver, escaped and is being pursued.
  • Background: The attack is believed to be related to local political tensions and potential "guns-for-hire" activity. The leader, Pendatun, had prior outstanding warrants for murder, robbery, and violation of a gun ban.
  • Victim Status: Mayor Ampatuan was unharmed, although two of his security detail suffered minor injuries."

Wow! Never fired one, or even seen one in person, but I figured and RPG on a light SUV would have been more effective, unless possibly an anti-armor round, that is intended to blow through/burn through to produce globs of super hot globs of moulten armor shielding to bounce around inside an armored vehicle, but the suv simply to light to produce the effect?

I saw this report on NBC evening news yesterday. LOL, I had seen the teaser and was really paying attention when the story came on. Being NBC, they didn't mention where this happened. I ended up searching it online before I found that it was the Philippines.

The only thing like that I got to fire in Basic was the M72 Anti-Tank Weapon. The occupants of that car were lucky it was a glancing blow on an angle. If it had hit straight on, they all would have been incinerated.
