The story reads like a dystopian B movie. The poor dude is sitting in his car when another car full of Mexicans slams into him. Having just been assaulted, the white guy apprehends a couple of the Mexican (who are most likely in the country illegally) and holds them at gunpoint until police arrive, all in compliance with the law. The rest of the Mexicans fled in their car.

I note that this occurred in North Carolina, which we know has been acutely damaged by leftist garbage politicians.

Instead of the police taking the Mexicans into custody, they took the white guy into custody for pointing his gun at them and “assaulting” one or both of them. Clearly, the guy was exercising his right of self-defense. But the leftist state is pursuing criminal charges against him.

When a person is attempting to defend themself or another person, they are attempting to PREVENT the assailant from inflicting severe bodily harm or DEATH to the defender or the person they are defending.

Taking your firearm and using it to force compliance is whatever it is that you want them to do is what criminals do and is NOT DEFENSE, self or otherwise, it's retaliation.
