Making Disease Great Again: RFK, Jr. slashes CDC staff.

Despite what some like to think bigger and bloated does not necessarily mean better. Over the decades we have seen politicians on both sides call for reducing the size of government trimming bloated government agencies and getting rid of waste now we are seeing who was serious about it and who has just been giving election year lip service to it.

No, they have not. You are inefficient, liars, and clunkers. We are going to find tremendous MAGA corruption.
Your party is too busy trying to pry caked underwear material out of your but cracks to do anything about anything. Democrats fuck up everything they touch, just look at the Biden years. But they sure can launder money.

Trimming with a chainsaw is not what people had in mind when they went to the polls.

I suspect that would be the status quo people who don't want any when you look at the amount of waste and bloat in the government what has been done in these first weeks doesn't even amount to drop in the proverbial bucket.

Robert Kennedy Jr. has slashed staffing at the Center for Disease Control in his new role as health chief, expanding the purge of government departments conducted by President Trump and Elon Musk.

The newly confirmed Secretary of Health and Human Services for President Donald Trump fired nearly half of the vaunted team of 'disease detectives' during his first day on the job, setting the scene for a slimmed down department moving forward.

The entire incoming class of the Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) were reportedly told they are no longer needed as part of 1,300 layoffs at the CDC.

These staff generally investigate disease outbreaks both within the United States and abroad, and are highly educated and sought-after experts with doctorates or masters degrees in their fields.

'This will destroy the EIS, which is one of the absolute crown jewels of global public health,' director of the University of Minnesota's Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy Michael Osterholm said.

Is it any wonder that diseases are making a comeback in the US. Ebola in the US now and emerging viruses across the globe. Trumpist logic is to fire those on the front lines defending this nation from these diseases.

Americans will pay the price because of Trump and his administration of miscreants.

And no MAGAs, sticking your head up your backside will not prevent the next pandemic.
It’s weird yoj think having a large staff at the cdc is gonna keep you from getting a disease

That “waste” isn’t going back in your pocket. It’s going to EV and SpaceX grants.

When did they change their mission statement to, "No one will get a disease."
I’ve not claimed that. I don’t think the cdc does that. I don’t think the cdc makes disease great, or not great. I didn’t write the op or the title of the thread

Maybe it is maybe it isn’t but none of USAID waste was going anywhere other than the pockets of the government and the inside the beltway elites.
Baloney! USAID was our soft-power around the world. Putin sought to undermine it and his buddy Trump axed it!
