Stacey Abrams did not turn Georgia blue. The abandonment of Trump by white suburban women did. They were a key demographic for the Trump campaign in 2016 and he lost them by double digits this time as did the GOP in 2018. Trump actually increased his support among blacks by three percentage points in this election. Now that Trump is out of the picture I suspect we'll see a resurgence of the Republican Party in suburban Atlanta, but time will tell. Demographics do change over time.
