Mainstream media’s influence waning fast

The American Spectator:

Voters ignore anti-Trump narratives as traditional news loses its grip on public opinion.

13 Nov 2024 ~~ By Avi Nachamani

The 2024 presidential election results reveal the diminishing influence of legacy mainstream media, whose relentless campaign against Donald Trump - unprecedented in scale and hostility - has largely backfired.
Over half of American voters have shown that they’re no longer swayed by the daily narratives from ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, and PBS. They’re no longer buying what’s published in the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal (editorial page excepted), or other prominent outlets. Trump’s decisive victory underscores the waning power of this era’s “Yellow Journalism,” though it’s doubtful the media will change course.
But it’s not just the media’s ideological stance that has eroded public trust; it’s also the condescending attitude many mainstream outlets display toward everyday Americans. Those who hold traditional values or come from middle America are often portrayed as backward, “dangerous,” or “uneducated.” Such dismissive arrogance has only widened the divide, reinforcing the belief that the media serves an elite echo chamber rather than the American public.

Now, however, the legacy media competes with a vast landscape of alternative news sources: Joe Rogan, Tucker Carlson, Steve Bannon’s War Room, Charlie Kirk, The Free Press, Newsmax, Real America’s Voice, Breitbart, Substack, Elon Musk’s X, Fox News, The American Spectator, and more. This diverse media ecosystem has given Americans choices, challenging the narratives and viewpoints of legacy media in ways unimaginable just a few decades ago.

Commentary:
As I've previously written Legacy media is no longer able to compete and lie to the public.
It used to be said that you could not compete or go after the newspapers because they can drown you in barrels of printers ink.
Those days seem to be long passed.
Even Democrats are now angry at the Legacy media....
There are new choices to garner information and if the media will not give the truth to the people, the people will go else where and allow them to wither on the vine.

Personally, I only turn to legacy media when I'm having a bad day with my Sudoku puzzles and get to feeling that I'm losing my mental acuity. That's when I flip on one of those stations for 15 minutes and almost immediately feel like I'm a genius. MAGA

The irony of this is that Harris is a large contributor to this decline. Her.refusal to engage in intervoews,.hold.press coinferences,.answer questions on the fly without a teleprompter coupled with the obvious debate bias forced.Trump to pursue alternative methods to counter the media narrative that was not based on Harris herself, but their efforts to carry her past the finish line. Thos really began when Trump.held the interview on X.with Elon.

I don't disagree with them hiding Kamala from the media, that was the right thing to do

She is a word salad from hell, unlikeable, and a Left wing past that none in Congress can rival.

Then you have the problem of not being able to say anything because if you tell people what you are going to do they won't vote for you. It was bad enough telling people who are being killed by the economy that she was going to raise taxes by some $5 trillion, and somehow make that not negatively affect them in any way. And the immigration stuff, her changing her mind on building a border wall that she once said was Trump's vanity wall? That did not go over well either. Hard sell.

What they should have done is kill off Joe right before the election, giving her less time to have to campaign, and then blame right wing extremists for his demise.

I've been down here in Florida for the last month helping my folks clean up from the two hurricanes.

I haven't watched legacy broadcast news for a decade, but my Octogenarian parents watch ABC nightly news every night.

Every political story is nothing but blatant propaganda...far worse that it was when I stopped watching.

When I abandon legacy, their bias was mostly covert ... which stories they chose to report and subtle framing and vocabulary choices.

Today it is not only overt, but obvious and blatant.

And now that they're all-in, their credibility is completely shot. I seriously doubt there is any road to recovery beyond scrapping everything and starting over.

The thing about the MSM vs Trump is that the MSM has been PROVEN to be compromised on several major matters, the Russia Collusion hoax being the most prominent. The suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop news, the lies about him "bragging about grabbing women," about calling American Nazi's "very fine people," and the lies about his court cases that are still being published.

The MSM has been relegated to one source from which predictably slanted versions of reality can be obtained, which must be balanced with more reliable sources. The "danger" is that most Americans now PRESUME that what they are reading is compromised, so when a real story emerges it may be just ignored.

The Russian collusion "hoax" put people in jail and got some lawyers disbarred. Avoiding the evil MSM has made you an ignoramus. Your choice. :auiqs.jpg:

The American Spectator is rag that came from a deceased western Pa. nazi named Richard Scaife. It`s a Klan rag that`s as far away from mainstream media as media can get. :abgg2q.jpg:

Unfortunately for you the opinion piece is dead on. Most of the nation turns to X for news.
Even those who are stuck on MSM Make sure to visit X once a day at least. X is just getting started.
