The keto diet simply works. Mix in really heavy carb days to keep the body guessing. Eggs for breakfast with say some cheese. Chicken breast on lettuce for lunch. Beef with veggies stir fry for dinner. One can keep carbs under 10 or 20g if the try. Mix with 16-18 hour fasting window to eliminate insulin and you immediately lose water weight, soon fat when body goes into ketone state. I then mix in a day with heavy carbs to not allow body to plateau. Have a day with many small meals to activate metabolism again. Mix and repeat, I seem to have cracked the code for myself.

/----/ I went on Keto in January and have lost 20 lbs. Make sure you get 100 grams of protein a day. I didn't, and I started losing my hair at an alarming rate. My doctor adjusted my diet and vitamins, and the hair loss has stopped.

1. Not all vegetables are Keto friendy. Corn, carrots, and peas are high in carbs. Check the label before you buy them. 18 Keto-Friendly Vegetables to Keep You On Track with Your Low-Carb Goals
2. Keto bread is available in stores and is OK but costs $7 a loaf. Look for the net carbs on the label. One slice is 10g of carbs, but 9g are pure fiber, which you need, leaving a net 1g of carbs. It is filling, and I have a couple of slices for a sandwich or toasted with breakfast. Butter and Olive Oil substitue spreads are Keto friendly.
3. I drink three Premier Protein shakes a day. Each has 30 g of protein and 5g or carbs. The chocolate flavor is good with no chalky aftertaste. It's cheaper at Costco.

My diet consists of a good deal of meat, corn and green beans and so I have my vegetables and protein covered. I do a lot of Crystal Light and Pepsi Zero for my drinking. Slim Fast is also in my picture. I get the high protein creamy chocolate Slim Fast because it is low carb. :) :) :)

God bless you always!!!

You can also make your fasting window 18-20 hours a day (18 is not that hard, 20 takes extra time to adjust) and if you stick to this and just eat reasonably the weight falls off. I did this for a couple months, ate whatever I wanted, and dropped weight the whole time.

/---/ My doc had me quit diet soda. He said it tricks your body into thinking the artificial sweetener is real sugar, and it pumps insulin into your system. I use Whole Earth plant - based sugar alternative. Erythritol & Monk fruit.
It's all natural with no calories or fat and 8gs of carbs in 2 tsp.

When I drink the Pepsi Zero, I only do one 16-ounce cup a day for only 4-5 days a week and so I am not over-indulging on it. I have it with my lunch and Crystal Light is what I drink at home. I am currently the lightest that I have been in a couple of years now. On June 1st last year, I was 265. I am now 200. My goal is 165 if I can't get to 150 again.

God bless you always!!!

Yes. Keto is similar to and some believe a heathier version of, the old Atkins diet that was also very successful in taking off the pounds and inches.. I wouldn't tell anybody who seriously needs to lose weight to not do it. Putting down a heavy burden like 50 to 100 unwanted pounds is beneficial if even for awhile.

But unless it becomes a lifetime regime--and most people eventually get really bored or feel deprived with it and eventually give it up--once those carbs are reintroduced, the pounds will come back on, either quickly or over time.

I prefer a more doable and permanent lifestyle change of eating healthier foods in all the food groups. The weight loss will most likely be a lot slower, but it will also be much more likely to be permanent and our psyche is much more likely to readjust our lifestyle to something more sustainable over the long term in a way we are comfortable and content with it.

Never heard of it, I'll give it a try. Yes Diet Soda is essentially slow poison.

All.pop or soda is bad for us, some.of the worst food on earth.as it is.basically sugar.and empty calories. I went with some "zero coke" once in a blue moon but I swear it makes my head sore, as if I can feel it impactijg my brain arteries or something. Weird I know but a very distinct feeling and I have always been in close "connection" with my body to even the slightest shifts.

My Mother was totally against soda or chocolate. We never had it in the house. On Halloween when I came home with a huge bag of candy she would start handing it out to kids coming to the door! I was so mad at her but she instilled good habits in me. If I have a soda which is rare it will be Sprite or 7 up. I Never buy candy or chocolate.

I very rarely drink pop. Maybe once or twice every couple of years. I go through cycles of chocolate now and again though. Dark chocolate has real health benefits if cocoa levels are.st least 70%.

Are you sure it's not because you're a fattie? A lot of feds are physically unattractive like that.

On topic:

I don't think keto would be a good diet, because if you are skipping all the carbs, it means you have to load up on proteins, and having to metabolize so much protein can really stress your organs. Also, carbohydrates are an essential nutrient, you have to have them every day, even if it's just a small amount. I actually went a few days without carbs myself ( I am also trying to lose weight), and it made me constipated, because I was not getting enough roughage, despite that I had plenty of vegetables. You need carbs, the right kind, to give you enough fiber.
