The stainless S&W 64 and 65 are the same (K-frames) except for the caliber.

The blued version is the Model 10 M&P Heavy Barrel.

I was issued one in VDOC. It was a Model 10-5 4", and later I was issued a Model 64 2".

Thousands upon thousands of the HBs were manufactured/issued to PDs and Prison Systems.

The last of them were traded in over the last decade or so. They could be had for well under $300.00.

Oddly enough NYDOC sold off several thousand.

That top photo looks exactly like my old one. I bought it in '75 for a little over a hunnert. Pawned it in college in '93 for about the same amount, but sadly had to let it go as a starving student.

I wish I still had it. Double action revolver with a 6" barrel, meaning that you could actually hit what you were aiming for.

They only made them with either a 2" or 4" barrel.....Perhaps you misremembered.
