Easy to skew when Engineers have a rate of near zero and conceptual theatre majors average around 10%

My neighbors kid is a dance major grad from a top tier university. She makes very little money dancing (for shows) and supplements it with yoga instructing which pays well for the types of places she teaches in. Her goal is to pursue her dream to dance and if it doesnt happen for her before she ages out of it she'll fall back on her liberal arts degree which she got a 3.8 in for a 9-5 job.

I respect that drive.

You dont even know what "welfare" is or who it goes to. My guess is that the most you've ever looked into it was a meme on stormfront.
Welfare destroyed the black family and they are the second poorest culture in America

Corrections is a stable recession proof career with a pension and amazing insurance. Pays the same as cops. They take anybody. They are DESPERATE for officers. Just about anybody, even somebody in bad health, could drive to any prison tomorrow and be getting paid inside a week.

Beats the hell out of 12 dollar an hour part time work at Taco Bell.

I don't know about that....as a petite woman. Dangerous for many of us, but we probably know that and wouldn't even try.

Grim news regardless of your party preference. Employment is the temperature gauge of the nation’s economy. The number of unemployed people looking for work more than six months has surged to its highest level since the pandemic. Basically these are people put out of work during Trump’s first few months and still are not employed.

Nice job Trump.

As of August, the number of long-term unemployed people had risen to 1.9 million, according to government data — the highest level since 2021, when the nation was still reeling from the pandemic.

With the job market faltering in recent months as employers put the brakes on hiring, more workers are being sidelined for months on end, economists told CBS News.

"We're continuing to see this low-hire, low-fire environment," said Laura Ullrich, Indeed's director of economic research for North America and a former official at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. "There aren't really new jobs being opened up for people — there isn't room for new people to come in."

A CBS News poll released Thursday captures the dimming view many Americans have of the labor market, with 33% of respondents describing it as "good," down from 41% in April. What's more, 48% said they think there are fewer good jobs where they live compared to five years ago.
Wait, let me guess. Without reading your screed I predict that you will complain about the lack of jobs and will blame..wait for it...here it comes...you guessed it...Orange Man!!

How did I do?

Right wing logic. If there is bad news under Trump it is fake or actually good. If its bad news under Biden "ahhh, we're all going to die".
I do believe that there is an adjustment from our agendas before and what is current. And Trump deserves some time for that. If inflation does not recede a year from now complaints can be made. However, if there are checks sent out to us from the tariffs that will nullify the inflation and much more.

fast food is always hiring so here no excuse to be unemployed,,
If you make the assumption that human beings are rational actors, and these folks that are now unemployed are getting more off of unemployment (unemployment is based off of what you had made while employed,) than they why would taking a job and McDonald's or WalMart in those folks interest?

It seems those folks would disagree with your assessment.

The Chinese build military weapons like we did in World War 2. We are like England at that time. They will be our master's at some point.

If you think our economy grim now, you must have been apoplectic during the Dark Brandon Years when we found out that all of Joe's job gains were all made up!

Thank Joe Biden, Democrats and those Dem shills at the Fed for pouring as much cold water on the economy as possible while blowing trillions on their money scams, driving inflation through the roof.

Pretty bad. All I did was point out what was happening. I leave it up to you to figure out why.

I do not think the economy sucks yet. I don’t make up shit like you right wing nuts do. I had 3 great earning years under Biden while you cried yourself to sleep babbling let’s go Brandon.

We will see about under Trump. He is mostly screwing those without money so maybe that leaves the big spenders carrying the economy. Who knows?

The signs are not good. Employment, spending, corporate investment, inflation, gdp growth are all weakening.

Agree. Time will tell.

Name/link us to one thing I ever made up.

You must have been in the business of buying up all of the closed and failed businesses under Joe Biden.

The longer the shutdown goes, the more effect it'll have on the private sector. There is no bigger consumer of products and services than our federal government, plus the effect on industries requiring government permits.

Take for example, the Spirits Business.
