anybody installed it? they really have polished it over the years to look very windows like without the bloat and issues

I took a course in linux ages ago and did not really get it, I kinda only remember bash and I don't recall what it did

basically if you installed it, impressions?

I used Mint for at least a decade, excellent distro for beginners and pros. You can use Terminal or not and do everything through the graphical interfaces. The installation is easy just remember your password because even if your computer is set to automatically log in on boot up there's always upgrades. You'll need the password to install some updates and access some settings.
I recently switched over to Fedora (Gnome version), not because of any problem with Mint but just because I like the Gnome desktop more. Fedora also seems to work better on my desktop than Ubuntu and is just as polished.

Our two file servers run mint, uptime is absurd. Both probably running nonstop for 5 or 6 years straight.
