Obviously the companies the linemen work for have no such contracts. Linemen generally work for municipalities. Normally city or county workers, like linemen take time off to help out in disasters. The time off is unpaid.

Not on the East Coast. Out here most of the utilities are owned and maintained by private companies thst employ linemen under contract through the UWUA or IBEW. Mutual aid agreements and storm contracts exist to get assistance to these storm affected areas. My employer sent a little over 200 employees, line trucks and gear first to West Virginia then to Florida a couple eeeks ago. They worked 16-18 hour days, got paid around the clock and came home (Upstate BY and MA) this past week worn out but well compensated

I see no one privileged in great employment spewing they are going to give up another 30%of their pay or pensions for someone else. Some who have that employment even have a couple of homes with one in resort areas. I look at socialism as near pure equality. And that is not happening. None of those rich people living in rich areas are letting the illegals, minorities, criminal types into their areas of living. Martha's Vinyard is every Progressive upper middle class and rich enclaves' area in the nation. Frauds and hypocrites. Joe, Kamala and the rest answer to the real godless cult of their masters. I know, (no lib loon here) and they don't pay anyone but their own contractors, usually just a small ready force that deploys to areas when called upon to hand out vouchers and such.....A relative deployed like that for 20-odd years all over the country/PR/Virgin Islands.

I know for a fact that linemen are not FEMA contractors, all that is handled through state emergency services......The states then apply for emergency funds from the .gov and the funds, when received, are distributed by the state.
