Life in Liberal LA-LA-Land - gas stolen from gas tank

I would be fearful to spark it.

According to Grok AI, that truck is a 2022–2026 Ford Maverick. It also has a high-density polyethylene or HDPE fuel tank, not metal. But still, there are documented incidents where drilling into vehicle gas tanks (including plastic ones) led to fires, often during theft attempts or improper repairs. Sparks from the drill motor or bit ignited vapors or spilled fuel.

I think it would have been hilarious if the thieving shithead had accidentally set himself on fire.

People used to steal it sucking thru a hose to get it started. UGH. Tasted like crap all day when I had to do it at home or roadside. Only once. Not willing to try again.

That's called using an "Arkansas credit card" and yes, it does taste nasty.

I know that for a fact. :laughing0301:

This says something about people.

What a gross thing to have to live with.

CA will not punish the perpetrators. Just like the rampant catalytic converter theft back then, CA, took it out on the automakers and scrap metal recyclers but not a word on punishing those stealing the unit.
