Arguably the greatest film ever made., It follows the life of Blimp from the Boer war to the second.
Everything about Blimp makes you want to hate him but you cant. The film breaks every rule including a sympathetic portrayal of Germans in wartime.

Roger Livesay plays Blimp in a massive performance. Deborah Kerr plays 3 different parts as his love interest down the years. Anton Walbrook is the sympathetic German officer who steals her away from Blimp.

Powell and Pressburger made it in wartime which makes it more remarkable.

My favourite scene is when Blimp and his loyal batman toast the end of the war on the western front as peace breaks out. Two souls who made it through the madness.

But there are many others. Scorsese is a huge fan and he knows a bit about films. It leaves me sobbing at the end every time. Anything that has that power is a force to be reckoned with.
