U.S. consumers spent more in July than economists expected, the federal government said on Thursday, as retail sales rose 0.7% vs. the 0.3% estimated. Excluding automobile sales, a more volatile component, retail sales rose 1% — double what economists anticipated.

Why it matters: Consumers were largely unfazed by the increasing economic uncertainty in July, defying other indicators that point to a global slowdown or recession. The data also comes as Walmart, one of the world’s biggest retailers, posted strong financials for its most recent quarter.

Have heard before Trump was elected that if he got in the economy would fail. Once he was elected heard that the economy would fail. Once he stepped into the White House it would fail. When he started talking trade was warned the economy would collapse. When he started a trade war the economy would collapse.

Seems like every time we turn around the left assures us that the economy will collapse. They have been hoping that the economy will fail or we will get into a nuclear war just so they have something to hang around Trumps neck to show that he is a failure.

Imagine if they actually wished that the U.S. did well? That it would be a thriving country?
