I think ive figured out why Democrats thing this country is going to hell. Its because instead of going out and finding jobs and working hard to get what they want they are out looking like idiots protesting.

The sad fact is these people think they have actually lost freedoms. I heard about people going to a protest who were upset that they lost their freedom of assembly. WTF? These people seem to think they are being oppressed if the majority of people disagree with them. They dont seem to understand how shrill and stupid they look acting like this. Meanwhile our troops are fighting so they can do this. and these ungrateful creatures try to undermine the cause of freedom they claim to want. anyone else tired of this?

How exactly do you protest an inauguration?

The Constitution is clear on this process and it will not be changed because you gather and yell into megaphones, microphones either for that matter.

I could understand if there were actual evidence of election fraud or something but in this case there was none.

Yesterday on Fox, they showed some that were throwing stuff at the cops, get'n pepper sprayed by the cops. At first, it looked like they were spraying em with big water guns, but they said it was pepper spray.

I loved the scene!

MEANWHILE in Washington, things turned ugly:

"You can go a [expletive] half-mile away and stand on the first street corner you see!" shouted a self-described anarchist, dressed all in black with a bandana covering his face. As they taunted and threatened and liberally profaned Kobrin and the rest of the group, a member of the D.C. Anti-War Network (DAWN) -- the official organizers of the rally -- tried to break it up.
"Your purpose is to instigate people. You're going to have to leave!" shouted the "marshal," DAWN's term for their ad hoc security force.

"We're staying here," Kobrin replied.

Then he went down under a hail of black boots. Once the marshals pulled the anarchists away, ProtestWarrior sued for peace and made for the exit. Their chant of "Four more years!" was answered by the anarchists' reply: "Wah wah wah!"

Some in the anti-Bush crowd said they resented the fact that ProtestWarrior's "man bites dog" schtick eats up a disproportionate amount of press attention.

"They're taking the media away from us!" exclaimed one angry protester.


See, not all anarchists are stupid!


BACK IN SAN DIEGO, I split my band of Protest Warriors into small teams, each with a distinct mission. Some carried signs, some passed out pamphlets, while others kept a watchful eye over the whole group...

As the march progressed down 4th Avenue, one of our teams moved towards the front of the crowd. I watched from a few yards behind, as their three signs swayed to the beat of the pot-bangers. I expected someone to detect these interlopers, and kept a lookout for any reaction from the security goons.

But nothing happened.

Finally, they reached the front rows of the march -- and turned their signs around:

CUBA

REAL
LIBERALS
FIGHT
TYRANNY

VENEZUELA
For a few moments, nobody noticed. Then, to my left, I heard someone gasp, "What do those signs say?"

"Free Venezuela?"

"Those signs are total BULLSHIT!"

Meanwhile, my team was also making our way forward. I found myself immediately behind a man with a megaphone, who was directing the crowd in angry anti-Bush chants. I recognized him as Justin Akers, a community college professor who moonlights as an organizer for the local chapter International Socialist Organization.

That's right -- my property taxes pay the salary of this man, who uses his classroom to indoctrinate young, impressionable students into his radical ideology. And I was close enough that I could almost reach out and touch him...

After marching a few more blocks, we quietly melted away, cutting through the side streets to reach our final rally point at 3rd & Broadway, right outside the NBC Building. There, we waited for the marchers to return.

Meanwhile, some pedestrians began to notice our little counter-rally, and took a moment to absorb the meaning of our signs.

"Hey," one man shouted, "Why don't any of you young guys go over and fight in Iraq?"

I hear this one at almost every one of these events. "I've already been."

This stopped him in his tracks, momentarily. "Well, why don't you go back?" Also predictable.

"If they send me, I'll go again."

He walked away, cursing at us under his breath.

Another man responded to our "Free Venezuela" sign.

"Venezuela is free!" He declared.

I wanted to ask him if he was aware that Venezuela strongman Hugo Chavez recently outlawed the "cacelorazo," a form of protest involving the banging of pots and pans in the streets (which was being practiced by many of that evening's protestors in San Diego, without any sense of irony). But he was gone before I could respond.

Several people didn't seem to understand our point. "Thank you guys for doing this," one man says. "Nobody can blame me when things go all to Hell," he continued, "because I voted for Kerry!"

Others read our signs and smiled, or gave us a thumbs-up.

Suddenly, from across the street, I heard a commotion of shouting. A man (not from our group) holding a "Honk for Bush" sign had been pushed out into the street by a protestor. Two others, however, quickly grabbed him and pulled him back to the safety of the sidewalk.

Finally, the marchers arrived back on the scene, along with the media. But the press already had plenty of footage of anti-Bush marchers -- here was something new! In a moment, we found ourselves awash in the light of the cameras...

Later that evening, our signs would provide the counter-point to the protestors on the late-night news broadcasts. A couple of our members were also interviewed on camera.

You see, we're taking the media away from them.

Yup,

I’m very tired of it too. Maybe we can find the means to publicly humiliate these morons and it will have some effect, peer pressure is not unconstitutional.

I kind of have a soft spot for Anarchists. Their hopelessly child-like naivate when it comes to human nature can be refreshing to my bitter and cynical soul.
