Yves Saint Laurentās Libre is a staple of popular womenās perfumes. The fragrance was advertised during the holidays using the George Michael song Freedom ā90, featuring the lyrics āI don't belong to you, and you donāt belong to me.ā
So, is that the message men want to convey when they give the perfume to their woman: āI donāt belong to you, and you donāt belong to me. This is an open relationship. We can see other people.ā?
The commercial also proclaims āFreedom doesnāt wait.ā Perhaps YSL is telling woman, āDonāt wait for a man to buy you Libre. Buy it for yourself to declare your freedom.ā
Or, it doesn't matter if you are alone during the holidays. Being alone is being free.
