Yves Saint Laurentā€™s Libre is a staple of popular womenā€™s perfumes. The fragrance was advertised during the holidays using the George Michael song Freedom ā€˜90, featuring the lyrics ā€œI don't belong to you, and you donā€™t belong to me.ā€

So, is that the message men want to convey when they give the perfume to their woman: ā€œI donā€™t belong to you, and you donā€™t belong to me. This is an open relationship. We can see other people.ā€?

The commercial also proclaims ā€œFreedom doesnā€™t wait.ā€ Perhaps YSL is telling woman, ā€œDonā€™t wait for a man to buy you Libre. Buy it for yourself to declare your freedom.ā€

Or, it doesn't matter if you are alone during the holidays. Being alone is being free.
