Great performance here featuring the most tremendous pianists of all time.

Liberace was controversial, a lot of people spread rumours that he was involved in gaiety, but this performance eliminates all doubt.

Love the fashion of the time as well. You just don't see people dressed like this in the 2020's.

Were you being facetious when you said that performance eliminated all doubt? Because that video just popped the circuit breaker on my Gaydar.

Hell of a piano player though.

Well ... any doubt that he might be "straight" has certainly been eliminated.

/——/ I was a teen when this aired. My parents and grandparents generation were scared to death of rock and roll. They thought we were being brainwashed.
My mother would turn off the radio when she heard the Beatles songs being played. This only after I told her who was singing.
Their pop singers wanted to help calm them down by showing there was nothing to be scared of, so they appeared with the rock bands of the day. Perry Cuomo and Andy Williams did the same. Gen Z will have to google their names. It was back when you had to have talent and singing chops to make it.
No auto tune.

It was well known he was gay.

Let's see:

Had relationships with men, including a notable six-year relationship with Scott Thorson, who later sued him for palimony....Check.
Died in 1987 at age 67 from complications of AIDS...Check.

Yup. Gay. But still one hell of a piano player.
