Great article from AP on these Cuban doctors, so maligned by the U.S. today, but truly heroic and greatly appreciated by those they serve all over the world.

My persona doc is a Cuban dude(soviet era trained) who retired doctoring in "Cuber" and moved here to open a private practice in 2007 @ 55 y.o..
I dunno where the news gets its numbers(but I can guess).
His retirement deposit from Cuba is a lil over $500 us pesos a month. Chump change, yet 5X more than the owners allow to be reported.
Um yeah.He didn't row a boat dodging bullets. 30 years service for them and taught kidney care/transplantation at UH. He comes and goes back freely. His daughter is a 15 or so year vet there and is a neurologist. Nice folks.Diego didn't retire and leave until she finished her school.
