how do you know theyre a criminal if they havent gone through due process??

if you catch them in the act or they fight back during arrest is something else,,

The police used dark alleys, rubber hoses and a sap. Those were the days of beat cops who actually walked the streets. One guy, no partner. Get out of line and he would cave in your skull.

Yep, one good day of policing. It wouldn't be good, just better.
