What the Democrats are offering on Sunday is a rule that says
The Senate bill, that total abortion we all despise, is passed and sent to the thief in chief. Cool. But because it is such a sack of shit, we propose the following changes to it, for the senate to take up at leisure and either pass on, or ignore as they see fit. But meanwhile, we will pretend that we are passing the whole thing. But all this other crap we are wrapping around the bill is just so much moonbeams until the senate sees fit to look at what we want. And ignore it or examine it if they please. But the Senate bill is passed, even without the laundry list of changes we are pretending to disuss.
Is that what is going on? All this other stuff, that flies off the table if the Senate chooses to ignore it. Meanwhile the louisiana purchase and the cornhusker thing, they are still in place because the House bill, while pretending to amend them can't. As they can only pass the senate bill in toto or reject it in toto.
Is this what we actually got?
