It's incredible how the left never learns from this mistake. Every time a type of wealth tax has been attempted it's backfired. The billionaire / trillionaire class that has been California's golden geese for decades are now fleeing the state in droves due to the wealth tax that was passed in the state. Spielberg is the latest to join Mark Zuckerberg, David Sacks, and others. When France tried something similar over ten years ago, implementing a 75% tax rate on incomes over € 1 million and it resulted in the wealthy fleeing the country, cramped investment, and ultimately resulted in a € 14 billion shortfall in state revenue.
