Mixed emotions. Just as the makeshift gallows on J6, however tasteless, was purely symbolic and not intended as any kind of threat, It could be that this also should be seen as symbolic, however tasteless/grotesque/inappropriate. That would put it under the protection of free speech.

That a Democrat congresswoman was participating made it especially shameful though.

But at some point we need to get away with this lawfare retaliation--they did it to us so we'll do it to them--kind of mentality and restore perspective to our politics as well as to our culture overall.

We need to focus on and deal with real crimes I think. And not the stupid stuff people do to aggravate us.

Accusation of terrorist activity should be reserved for those who intend and/or do physical harm to people or actively terrorize them and not those who symbolically use props or visual aids to make a point. Call them out for the hateful people they are, yes. Hold them accountable if they break the law yes. Point out that their rhetoric encourages the crazies to do evil, yes.

But just because they are malicious and vicious and intellectually dishonest and accuse us of whatever is not justification for us to behave as they do. Somebody has to decide to take the high road or the ugly just keeps going on and on and on. We need to be very specific in our language and very honest in our observations. I don't see a cardboard coffin as 'terrorism' or a physical threat any more than that harmless gallows was terrorism.

As Tevya wisely said, if we literally apply a rule of an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, the world will be blind and toothless.

Which will likely never happen. Meanwhile if we are as hateful as they are, if we are as intellectually dishonest as they are, if we are as malicious as they are, we live in a perpetually hateful world. I don't want Patriots to be a part of that.
